Installation
System requirements

For the optional TIA Portal integration you also need TIA Portal V21 installed on the same machine.
Download
Section titled “Download”Download the latest installer from the releases page on the S7 PLC Buddy website.
The installer file is named S7-PLC-Buddy-Setup-<version>.exe.
Installing
Section titled “Installing”- Double-click the installer.
- If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info → Run anyway. The installer is code-signed but SmartScreen may flag new software from small publishers.
- Choose your installation folder (the default is
C:\Program Files\S7 PLC Buddy). - Click Install and wait for the process to complete.
- Launch S7 PLC Buddy from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
First launch
Section titled “First launch”On first launch you will see the Dashboard with an empty connection state. Before any data appears you need to:
- Go to Settings → Connections and enter your PLC’s IP address.
- Enter your WebServer credentials (username and password).
- Click Connect.

Uninstalling
Section titled “Uninstalling”Open Settings → Apps in Windows, find S7 PLC Buddy, and click Uninstall. The app data folder (%APPDATA%\S7 PLC Buddy) is not removed automatically — delete it manually if you want a clean slate.
